Merkaela Music - Making You Feel Alive

Summer is finally here. The long awaited season of fun, sun and relaxation. Perfect time to catch up on some thought provoking and soul awakening music. My latest collection of songs for the wellness brand Merkaela does just that. 

The organic products in this month's box awaken us, and the music that goes with it makes us feel alive. Not coincidentally ALIVE is both the theme of the box and the playlist. 

The playlist opens with Away Away by Ibeyi and it sets the perfect tone to the 2 hour playlist. It urges us to come away on a journey that continues with a beautiful track by Nina Simone. Here comes the sun is such a perfect song for the summer. Nina Simone's rendition is extremely nuanced and deep, yet incredibly simple. Following these 2 first monster tunes is no easy feat, so we take a left turn with Daniel T. and his excellent track - Mission Hill Morning. It's such a great tune, that sets an amazing tone for feeling alive and being mindful. It has all the ingredients in the perfect song to listen to in the morning. (Try it with your Merkaela hibiscus tea potion). 

The playlist progresses with more upbeat tunes by Polo & Pan, Gabriel Garzon-Montano and Movement, until we make a u-turn and stop off Radiohead island and it completely makes us stop and think for a few minutes. 

The rest of the playlist is full of twists, turns and surprises. It includes some of my latest discoveries as well as older favorites like Celebrate by Little Dragon.
